Axis-Shield PoC is a member of the Axis-Shield group. Axis-Shield is an innovative healthcare company comprising a Laboratory and a Point of Care business backed by a strong R&D division.

   

Axis-Shield PoC's philosophy

We aim to be a driving force in the Point of Care market as a supplier of in-vitro diagnostic products. We are dedicated to develop innovative test systems to the benefit of physicians and patients.

Market position

Axis-Shield PoC has more than 40 years experience in development, manufacturing, marketing and sales of in-vitro diagnostic products. Collaboration with scientific institutions and companies throughout the world has brought several unique products to the market: Thrombotest™, Lymphoprep™ as well as NycoCard™ and Afinion™, two product portfolios for use in the Point of Care segment.

Axis-Shield PoC has a strong market position with more than 30.000 NycoCard™ Readers and 5.000 Thrombotrack™ instruments placed all over the world. One year after launch the Afinion™ System has been introduced in USA, Europe and Asia.
Afinion in R&D
Heavy investments in R&D over the years have given us a new unique multi-parameter Point of Care platform: The Afinion™ AS100 Analyzer. The Afinion™ concept received a Norwegian Innovation Award in 2003. In April 2006, the Afinion™ Analyzer System was acknowledged as Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA) Winner.

Compact and easy to operate, Afinion™ is designed to enable on-the-spot testing. The following tests are available on the Afinion™ AS100 Analyzer: glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), C-reactive protein (CRP) and Albumin/Creatinine ratio (ACR).

Dedication

The scientists at Axis-Shield will continue to develop new tests for the Afinion™, and a dedicated Sales and Marketing department supports our distributors to obtain success with the Axis-Shield PoC products.


Axis-Shield PoC has sales organisations in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland through Medinor, in the United Kingdom through Axis-Shield UK, in Switzerland through Axis-Shield AG, in Germany through Axis-Shield GMbH and in the US through Axis-Shield USA. In all other markets the products are sold through distributors and licensees.
