Axis-Shield PoC - Afinion HbA1c quality tested by SKUP

SKUP (Scandinavian evaluation of laboratory equipment for primary health care), a collaboration between Scandinavian health professionals and authorities, has completed an evaluation of Afinion AS100 Analyzer and Afinion HbA1c.

The SKUP evaluation goal is to compare the quality of PoC equipment in their intended PoC setting versus their quality in a hospital laboratory setting.
SKUP evaluations comprise comparison to a reference method, evaluation of within-day and between-day imprecision and an operator evaluation of the test system’s user-friendliness.

The overall opinion was that the Afinion Test System was very user-friendly and easy to handle. All features were rated top score by the operators participating in the study. Afinion HbA1c obtained excellent precision results, both at the hospital lab and in the primary centres, with CVs in the range 1.4-2.2%

Axis-Shield PoC is very pleased having achieved these excellent results in the highly regarded SKUP evaluation.
